Floating Candles

Supplies:
- Standard muffin pan
- Vegetable oil
- Paraffin wax
- Assorted wax dye
- Double boiler
- Strearin
- Primed wick
- Metal spatula
Instructions:
- Step 1.
- Grease the insides of each mold with a small amount of vegetable oil . This will make it much easier to remove the candle from the tray after the wax has set.
- Step 2.
- Dye your first batch of molten wax and pour into the pan, filling each mold to just below the rim. Continue with assorted colours.
- Step 3.
- When the wax has set slightly and feels tacky to the touch, carefully insert the trimmed wicks into the center of each candle.
- Step 4.
- Once the candles have set, after about 2-3 hours, slide the metal spatula gently around the edge of each mold to loosen each candle before levering it out.
- Step 5.
- Displayed them in an attractive glass vase or bowl. You can sprinkle seashells or pebbles on the bottom of the container.
