Review #1: good machine for beginners 2007-09-22 I bought this machine about two years ago.At that time I had never sewn before but with the help of this little machine, a few sewing books and some sewing lessons on dvd I was able to learn. The dvd that comes wih it shows you how to wind the bobbins and thread the machine which is always a big help to beginners like I was at the time.Even my mom who has been sewing for years is impressed with how easy it is to use. This is my first sewing machine ever and I really love it.Sometimes sewing through heavy layers like denim can be a pain but just go slow and use the right size needle. All in all I really would recommend this machine, it has more stitches than you could ever want and comes with a lot of additional presser feet and accessories.I have never had any problems so far.Now I am a sewer just like my mom and my friends and family are so impressed.I could never have done it if this machine was difficult to use.I would have probably just given up.I am extremely happy with my purchase and I think you will be to.
Review #2: Best Sewing Machiene Ever 2007-09-20 My wife purchased this machiene so I'll let her tell you all about it. My old sewing machiene of 18years suddenly died right in the middle of a city wide charity event. I was sewing up bibs and baby blankets to give to teen mothers. I needed a replacement right away so I ordered this machiene and I have been so happy with it. I can do twice the ammount ofbibs in half the time and the decorative stitch features are great because now I can also add beautiful little borders to the bibs and baby blankets. Also the machiene is so smart I've never had one like it. I also love the feature it has where you can choose to sew with the pedal or with the simple push of a button which is so nice when your feet get tired after sewing for a few hours. I love this machiene and I recomend it to abosolutely anyone!
Review #3: A Stitch in Time 2007-09-01 The only thing I really ever asked for young was a sewing machine, they sold 25 years ago for about twice this price. For various reasons this was never something I could have. So I used an old one (bought on a porch in a sale in the hills back in WV treadle foot machine) my brother sold it away when I left home with most of my possessions. And made a profit for the antique value. So two years or so ago I bought this one, from summer teaching pay. It was a bit more in price than here, I think, purchased in a local chain store. I'd name the store, but I'm embarrassed we ever shopped there. Yeah, that one. You go there poor. After sewing by hand for years it was such an altering thing. I have no basis for comparison, to me it's a fantastic bargain as machines go. I still am not sure I can use or run every stitch.Lots to try. I have definitely put in zippers and button-holed with no issues. I've made a few dresses for my kids, costumes, lots of craft uses, quilt tops, sewn place mats...umm can't think, I'm sure more.....oh yes 45 kids costumes for our shows and I could count on this. Gathered well. I did work a fairly short time in a shirt factory (Morgan Shirt Factory) and sewed for years and used industrial machines. Industrial machines just cannot be beat. They can turn a hem like nothing on earth. But short of that, this has been fine. It's worked well for my needs. And I did learn to run it. There is something especially gratifying about sewing, and I do use this to make pillows and do piecework. Right now I thought to review it because I'm making curtains and table covers for my classroom. Unfortunately I've not sewn much/enough in the last two years. Other things got in the way.
I personally think this is a great machine, you can read other reviews that have good specs.Making lots of points. I like the lead reviews. Seem fair. I make every mistake possible but so far it's running well. And since I hand sewed for so long it is wonderfully time saving. (When my eyes got worse hand sewing got a little less fun.)
Hope it works for you. I know I waited a very long time to find myself finally able to do something just dreamed about.
Review #4: It works very smooth, I like it! 2007-08-31 I order it at amazon last weekend and received it yesterday. I just finished a slipcover. It works wonderful. I love the feature of Oversized Table. And the price is not expensive
Review #5: GREAT MACHINE! Some of the features you'd find in the higher end machines. 2007-08-19 This computerized machine gives you a lot of the same features as the higher end machines (i.e. needle up/needle down, if you don't want to use your foot pedal... you can use the stop/start button located on the front of the machine, clear top loading bobbin, needle threader and super easy bobbin winding. It has a large bed to fit quilts through and it comes with a walking foot and a table attachment to enlarge the working space (plus many other feet). The manual is so comprehensive yet easy to read. It even gives easy instructions for heirloom sewing techniques, etc. One of the best manuals I've seen come with a machine. I also own a high end Viking and a mid range mechanical Elna. I purchased this Brother CS 6000i computerized machine to have around while my Viking is occasionally in for service. Wow, makes me not miss my Viking so much. I'm going to recommend this machine to my relatives and friends who think they'd like an easy-to-use computerized sewing machine but can't or don't want to spend thousands on a machine. This is a great purchase!!! |
