Amazon.com Review The power of steam meets the digital age in this electronically equipped iron from Black & Decker. Programmed to display temperature settings and signal the auto-off function, the iron's mini LCD monitor includes back lighting for easy viewing. It works in conjunction with the unit's SmarTemp system, an audible alert that sounds when the desired temperature is reached. If you feel comfortable using a standard dial setting, then this iron may be no more than a lateral move. But if you've always felt unsure launching into ironing without some feedback, this could be your machine. The iron comes with a highly polished stainless-steel soleplate, a good choice for long life, easy glide, and corrosion-resistance. The water features include spray, variable steam, and surge to make your labor more efficient, and the vertical steam is handy for hanging garments and draperies. For safety and extra peace of mind, the iron automatically shuts off after 10 minutes of being idle. It also comes with an extra-long cord, a custom-fit measuring cup, and a self-cleaning anti-build-up system. Black & Decker includes a one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

Review #1: Nice weight, lots of steam 2007-09-18 I purchased this iron a while ago. I like the amount of steam it produces and the weight of the iron negates a need to press down very much while ironing. It is well balanced and does not easily flop over while sitting upright if I accidentally bump the ironing board. I like the easy shut off as well as the automatic shut off. It feels comfortable in my somewhat arthritic hands and I feel it does a superior job of ironing. My last iron was a Rowenta. It cost a lot more and did not do as good a job.
Review #2: great iron for the money 2007-09-15 This iron is great I iron everyday. I had a rowenta before as a matter of fact I had 2 and they both failed on me, which they are supposed to be good or considered the best. This iron heats up so FAST there is no waiting time and it irons beautifully, my husband didnt want me to buy it cause he said the other one was fine but the steam went on it,(very hard to iron without steam) well of course I didn't listen to him (as always). I love this iron.
Review #3: I love this iron 2007-09-06 I've only had a cheap junky one before this... so I am not an expert. But.... it works great! The weight, the amount of powerful steam, fast heating, even after it shuts down and the nice lenght of cord. I am very happy with it.
Review #4: Great iron. Died after 1 YR,. 2007-09-03
This was a great iron. Lots of steam, large water tank, and no water leakage. All translated into very easy ironing.
Sadly, the iron died after a little after 1 YR. Black and Decker just does not build durable irons.
Stay away from this one unless you are OK with a short lived appliance.
Review #5: Great Iron 2007-08-14 I specifically looked for this particular iron in town but was unable to locate. So glad that Amazon carried this item. My last one lasted for quite some time. |
